How to image to svg

Vectorization translates image regions into mathematical paths. Simple logos and flat illustrations often convert cleanly. Photographs, noise and very fine details can produce many small shapes, so a high-resolution raster does not guarantee a small SVG. Use fewer colors and more simplification for icons.

  1. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP image.
  2. Select color count and tracing precision; preview raster beside the generated paths.
  3. Download actual SVG markup and test it in your editor.

Accuracy, privacy and limitations

Uses an open-source tracing engine downloaded from a CDN; if unavailable the page reports it instead of providing a fake conversion. Results are approximate and may need manual path editing.

Practical advice for a cleaner result

Always keep a copy of your source files. Compare the new image at 100% zoom, test it in the application where it will be used, and make one change at a time when a result looks unexpected. Browser memory limits depend on device and image dimensions.

image to svg FAQ

Does the SVG contain real vector paths?+

Yes. The tracing engine outputs paths rather than wrapping a raster image.

Is image to SVG the same as SVG to PNG?+

No. Vectorization constructs paths from pixels, while SVG-to-PNG rasterizes existing paths.

Does it make photographic artwork infinitely detailed?+

No. Tracing simplifies visible regions and may not preserve texture.
